Davis Creek Elementary
Kindergarten Predicts Early Spring for 2005

Holding up their groundhogs and bringing them out of their holes.
Will the DC Groundhog, Precious, see his shadow?
The Davis Creek Elementary Kindergarten predicted on February 2, 2005, at 8:30AM, that the Davis Creek Groundhog did not see his shadow, and we can enjoy an early spring.  This is in direct contradiction to Punxsutawny Phil, who forecast the opposite upon seeing his shadow.  Phil says we will have six weeks of winter weather.  French Creek Freddie, from the hollows of West Virginia, agreed with our prediction and did not see his shadow.  General Beauregard, hailing from Georgia, agreed with Punxsutawney Phil and forecasts six more weeks of winter.  Time will tell which groundhog made the correct forecast!
No shadow here!
DC Groundhog "Precious" does not see his shadow.
Teachers are dressed appropriately to cheer on the groundhog.
Is there a shadow over there?
Nope, it's just a reflection.
We forecast an early spring!
Still looking for a shadow.
The 2005 forecast is complete! Early spring is coming!
