Kindergarten- Mrs. Hensley
We have been working hard and looking forward to Christmas.  Be sure to visit our holiday art gallery in the hall.

First Grade- Mrs. Hamlin

We can hardly wait until Christmas!  We are being very, very good!

First Grade- Mrs. Vest

Mrs. Vest has helped us make lots of Christmas art projects.  Visit our gallery in the hall.

 Second Grade- Mrs. Wagoner
Our schoolwork is helping us pass the time before Christmas.  We are so excited and we are counting the days!

Third Grade- Mrs. Hatfield

We will be in the Christmas Program on December 19th.  Be sure to come see us at 7:00pm in the school gym.

Fourth- Ms. Leadman

We are also in the Christmas Program.  We are looking forward to it.

Fourth Grade-Mrs. Reichenbecher
We, too, are in the Christmas Program.  We wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Fifth Grade- Mrs. Simon
We are working on several projects.  Mrs. Hamilton helped us build "Simon City" in November.  Now we are working on a Christmas Factory.
We are also saying goodbye to our Australian keypals because their school ends on December 15th for the summer.
On December 14, 2000 from 4:30-6:00pm we participated in the DC Mars Red Rover teleoperating drive with our keypals from Armadale Primary School in Melbourne, Australia. http://boe.cabe.k12.wv.us/daviscre/aussieconnection3mm.htm
They could see us with the camera mounted on top our robot.  Thursday, December 14th from 4:30-6:00pm in West Virginia is the same as
Friday, December 15th from 7:30-9:00am in Melbourne, Australia.  They are currently fifteen hours ahead of our time zone.  In the spring when we are no longer on daylight savings time they are sixteen hours ahead of us.  Whatever the date, it was their last day of the school year as their summer vacation starts for them.  They also unveiled their school's web site in an assembly with students and parents.  Armadale Primary School's web site can be viewed at: http://www.armadaleps.vic.edu.au
Thanks to Mrs. Hamilton for getting us coverage in the Herald-Dispatch newspaper and for working with us.
We want to remind all parents and students in the fifth grade that our COSI trip is coming up on April 27, 2001.  The cost per student will be $45.  This will include transportation, lunch, and dinner.  Each fifth grade student may bring one parent.  They will also need to pay $45 to participate.  Please get your payment in early to reserve your seat on the bus.  We are working to pay our April 27, 2001 COSI trip.  If we bring in $5.00 a week we can pay our way in nine weeks.  We can't wait!
We wish to thank Mrs. Hamilton for the LEGO Moviemaker set.  We are busy taking turns making movies.  We have made movies set on Mars and are now making a movie about Christmas on Mars.
Mrs. Hamilton and Mrs. Simon traveled to Morgantown to LakeView Resort to present the DC LEGO Project at the West Virginia Science Teacher’s Convention (WVSTA) on November 30 through December 2.  They presented three presentations to well attended sessions.  This can be viewed at:   http://boe.cabe.k12.wv.us/daviscre/wvstanovdec2000.htm
Our Christmas party will be December 21.  Thanks to all the parents who help make it possible.  We also want to wish everyone a very
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
