Davis Creek Elementary LEGO Projects Graphing Sensor Data
This car also has an angle sensor and a touch sensor to measure
angles and the touch sensor allowed data to be gathered at each touch.
Mrs. Hamilton and two fifth grade students designed a robotic
machine to measure temperature. Using a RCX, a small computer, equipped with a temperature sensor
and ROBOLAB INVESTIGATOR software program to graph the results, the students measured the temperature
in the classroom and outside.
We took temperature readingsOctober 30, 2000 in our fifth
grade classroom. The room was about 73 degrees. Touching the
touch sensor on the robot for a little bit caused the temperature to go
up to 80 degrees and more. Going out side we took a temperature reading
by pushing the touch sensor. It was cold out side. In the time
we were out there the temperature reading only went down to 47 degrees
even though we could see frost on the grass.
