Miss Adventure Challenge:  Raft
January 2003

Surviving the terrible storm while traveling on the ocean in a ship is only the beginning of my story.  I have been stranded on what seems to be a deserted island!  Fortunately, the wreckage from our ship, "The Miss Adventure," is hung up on a reef.  My first challenge is getting supplies from the ship to the shore.
This is what I did.

MA Challenge #1:
We are working on a LEGO Miss Adventure Project:  Challange 1, that is about Rescue Device.  How to get to an island when the boat is sinking.  We decided to use parts of the sip and other nearby supplies to build a makeshift raft.  The raft is motorized.  The crane can take stuff on and off the boat.  I know we need to save as many items off the ship as we can before it sinks and is gone to us forever!  The motor is activated with batteries, which supplies the  machinery with power to operate the crane.  The crane will help get things on the raft, and off when I get to the island.  We lifted enough supplies on the raft to help us survive until we can get help.  I operated the crane, and began lifting stuff off the boat, and onto the raft.  We had to be careful about what items we chose to save because is they are too big they may cause the raft to sink, or effect the sinking rate of the ship.  We found a long pole and a piece of sturdy cloth and put them together to make our sail.  Now we have as much as we're going to get to try and survive on this tropical island.  I wonder what animals and plants await our arrival on the island?  I wonder if there are any people on the island, especially hunters!  It's time for us to ship out toward the island, and watch our ship slide beneath the cold, blue ocean.
