Our school newsletter will be published on the Internet monthly or bimonthly between August of 1999 and May of 2000.

In so doing , we hope to create yet another enduring link between our students, their parents, and our staff.

• The kindergarten year is almost over.  The students are getting ready to leave for a summer time vacation.
• Visit our Mother's Day Tea web page.  We had a great time!

• We are excited about the end of school!  We have studied hard and are now ready for a summer of playing!

• The first grade is finishing up our reading, writing, and math books.  We are looking forward to summer vacation.
• Visit our "Songs Of America" program.  It was great!

• The second grade class is also finishing up our classwork before summer vacation.  When we come back in August we will be third graders!
• Visit our "Songs Of America" Progam.

• We are working hard in our four block model and are almost ready for summer.  Surf's up!

• We are almost fourth graders!  In August we will be the new fourth grade class.

• On May 17 the Fire Patrols will go to Camden Park for their annual outing.
• We have finished our reading book and are working on the rest.  Summer is near!

• Mrs. Pat Smith is teaching Red Cross First Aid to our fifth grade students.  If the students pass the exam they will become certified in First Aid.  Mrs Smith has taught our students for several years.
• On May 17 the fifth graders will visit Barboursville Middle School to tour, speak with teachers, and eat lunch.  Our fifth grade is ready to move on to BMS!
• Also on May 17 the fifth grade safety patrols will visit Camden Park for the annual Safety Partol outing.
• We contacted Armadale Primary School in Melbourne, Australia through our DC Mars Red Rover robot in the fifth grade classroom. The fifth grade students drove our robot on Monday at 8:00AM.  We were at 5:00PM locally.  Everyone enjoyed the encounter!
• Awards Day is May 23 at 8:30AM.  The fifth graders will have a reception with their parents afterward.
• On May 7 at 6:00PM the 5th grade students made contact with 5th graders in Armadale Primary School located in Melbourne, Australia.  The Australian students drove the DC Mars Red Rover over the internet and could see West Virginia students and their classroom through the plexiglass bottom of the Marscape.  It was a delightful evening!

• Our "Songs of America" program was a great success.  Thanks to everyone for attending.

• Field Day will be May 24.

• Be sure to visit our art displays in the hallway.  We have several budding artists.

• Thanks to everyone for your help with the Spring Carnaval.  The carnival was a success.
