The Story of LEGO Misadventure
Stay Afloat!

Surviving the terrible storm is only the beginning of my story.  I have been stranded on what seems to be a deserted island.  Fortunately, the wreckage of  The Miss Adventure is hung up on a reef.  My first challenge was getting supplies from the ship to the shore.  This is what I did .  .  .

Surviving the storm was hard, but the Miss Adventure was caught upon a reef.  Then I had to gather up salvage from the ship.  I tried to build a boat out of the little that I had.  My first attempt failed, but I found strong material the second time.
Then I had to find a way to build a motor.  First, I had to find a crank.  I knew it would be a tough time cranking forhours and hours, but it's better than drifting further out into the ocean.  The way I made the crank is by using a handle that turns with with a bunch of boards attached in the middle.  The boards spin and it makes the boat move forward.  The boat will cruise at speeds up to 10-20 mph.

After cranking for very long hours, I finally spotted an island over the horizon.  After I battled my wasy over that twelve foot crashing waves I crashed onto the sand!  Then I had to find shelter  .   .   .

The fifth grade students at Davis Creek Elementary used the LEGO Simple Motorized Machine Set to build their models for the Miss Adventure challenge.  The students also used LEGOCAD, an older software product from LEGO, to build their models virtually on the computer.
