| A Home is
a House for Me I thought that getting things on shore was tough. Building my home was a real challenge. First, I had to decide where it was going to be located. So I decided to build it up in a tree to keep it away from vicious predators. How was I going to get up there? Simple! I built a ladder between two branches. Now is time for the hard part. I had to build a floor. I cut down palm trees. I was up all night cutting and trimming them to make them the right size. I decided that it was not quite strong enough. So I put an under layer of bamboo. I climbed up the ladder and sat down. I was certain that I was finished. But then, it started to rain. More work! I didn't really cut thetrees perfectly, but I am alone on a desert island. Who's going to see it? Those were the walls. I did the exact same thing for the roof. When I finished the roof, I laid down and gazed up at the stars. Them I knew I was truly finished. Then, an idea popped into my head. A person can only go three days without water. How was I going to get it? |

The fifth
grade students at Davis Creek Elementary used the LEGO Simple Motorized
Machine Set to build their models for the Miss Adventure
challenge. The students also used LEGOCAD, an older software
product from LEGO, to build their models virtually on the computer.
