LEGO Miss
Adventure Projects consists of seven challenges to plan and build ways
to survive a ship wreck near a tropical
island. Each student group must complete a journal and a LEGOCAD
rendering of their model. The seven challenges are: #1:
Salvage,
#2: Shelter, #3: Water, #4: Food, #5: Signal, #6:
Transportation, #7: Rescue. Students are also encouraged to
draw a picture of their model and explain how it accomplishes the goals set, and how it aids
the ship wrecked islanders to survive until they are rescued. The stranded islanders work to plan and build
a rescue airplane to take them back to civilization. They were
fortunate
that among the salvaged items from the sunken ship was a
detailed text on airplane mechanics. Their adventure would soon
be
over, but the experience would leave their lives changed
forever. Not only had they learned new skills, but they had
discovered a revolutionary survival technique:
LEGO teamwork!
The NASA emblem sticker,
the
S'COOL cloud identification card, and the Mars 3D poster from an older
National Geographic issue is behind the airplane.
