The 3D object was made from 2D instructions on a piece of paper. It is more difficult than you might think! |
Oral and visual communication from student to student brings rapid success. |
The next step was working in pairs to build a project using only oral communication. The first pair project was done as follows: Two students sat either back to back or with a barrier between them so that they could hear each other but not get any visual hints. Taking turns, a piece was chosen and orally described. Then, with out feedback, instructions were given as to how to place it. The other student followed the instructions. The next piece and placement were chosen by the other student. They alternated giving oral instructions until all the pieces were placed and then looked to see how closely alike the objects were. For the second pair project, feedback was encouraged. Results were then excellent.
