Davis Creek Elementary's
NASA Mars Red Rover
K12 Outreach Project

Davis Creek Elementary in cooperation with the Marshall University Math Department has received a NASA K12 Outreach Grant for the 1998-99 school year to continue to investigate LEGO Projects with emphasis on robots.  Mrs. Linda Hamilton, a Marshall University Math Instructor, is the principle investigator for this project.  Mrs. Hamilton has many years of experience with constructing LEGO models and programming their movement.  She will be working, along with several Marshall student assistants, each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at Davis Creek Elementary's 5th grade classroom.  Our first journey into the world of the DC Mars Red Rover was October 7 when the DC Red Rover site connected with another site, Pea Ridge Elementary's after school program.  The students at Pea Ridge drove the rover that was located at Davis Creek Elementary.
